Bayside Trail
Winding along the eastern slopes of Point Loma, the Bayside Trail offers a quieter, more contemplative perspective of Cabrillo National Monument. This coastal path reveals stunning vistas of San Diego Bay, with distant cargo ships drifting across the horizon and native coastal sage scrub lining the trail. As you descend toward the water, the trail unveils a rich blend of history and nature—once used for military observation, now a haven for hikers and photographers. On overcast mornings, the muted light brings out the earthy tones of the cliffs and the soft greens of blooming vegetation.
