Prettyface (Triteleia ixioides)

A delicate native wildflower, Prettyface lives up to its charming name with star-shaped yellow flowers that bloom in loose clusters atop slender stems. Often found on rocky slopes and open woodlands, it typically blooms in late spring, adding a soft splash of sunshine to the landscape. This particular Prettyface was photographed in Mission Trails Regional Park, San Diego—a beautiful example of California’s native flora in its natural habitat. Its graceful form and subtle beauty make it a quiet favorite among hikers, plant lovers, and photographers alike.
